If you’re been emailing potential end users for your domains and seam to get responses but are not able to close the deal, it may be your follow up email that is killing you. When finding and contacting potential end users you need to have a killer sales pitch to respond when they come asking you how much you want for a domain.
First, let me tell you a little bit about your domain pricing. I don’t care if Estibot or any other free domain appraisal website says your domain is worth thousands of dollars. If it was really worth that much then end users would be finding you, you would not need to be searching high and low for them. From my personal experience when I go finding and emailing end users and get a response, keeping prices in the $200-$400/each range seams to be best and make the most sales. You have to remember, $200 on a name you paid $8-$20 for is still at least a 100% return on your investment. The goal of a domain flipper is to buy low and sell high – just like in the stock market. Greed can kill you and if Estibot says your name is worth $1000 and you wonder why you can’t sell it – it’s probably because you are asking more than it is really worth to anybody.
So the cycle usually works like this -> You email an end user and tell them you have a domain for sale they might be interested in -> they email you back with something like “I’m interested, How much?” The response to this email is usually the make or break point of the whole deal. Your response to this email should contain the following information somewhere:
Your domain name
Their domain name
At least 2 reasons why they NEED this name (help in search engines, high searched keyphrase..etc)
Your contact information (name, email, phone)
Price of the domain
You need to remind the end user exactly what it is you’re selling them, as well as the price you are selling it for, followed up by a few good reasons they need this name and why you are asking a few hundreds dollars for it, and then wish them luck with their website. Don’t forget to include all of your contact information incase they don’t already have it!
Following these simple procedures should help increase your domain sales. Don’t forget the second email you send to an end user is JUST as important as the first! Be creative and pitch them with facts that backup what you are trying to charge them for the domain. Best of luck with your domain sales!

Great site. A lot of useful information here. I’m sending it to some friends!
